How many people you convince and what answers you pick adds hidden points that are tallied up at the end. The more you have, the more things the empire will do and give you as a reward. Getting the troops out of Doma and the military base will give you access to more chests to loot. The charm bangle reduces encounter rate (supposedly) and the Tintinbar is useless as there are more reliable ways of healing and better uses for a relic slot.
