Forged Battalion is a 2018 real-time strategy game developed by Petroglyph Games and published by Team17. The game shared many similarities with 8-Bit Armies, a previous title by Petroglyph Games.
The game is set in 2057. Earth has been devastated by climate change as well as social and political unrest. When the world was at the edge of a full collapse, a business man names Milos Thymes stepped in and offered to restore peace and prosperity.
Thymes had developed a new highly adaptable technology, the Modular Manufacturing Plant. In exchange for access to this technology, Thymes demanded political control over any country that wanted it.
A decade after his rise, Thymes declared war on every nation that had not yet joined his Collective. Now in control of most of the globe, he is opposed only by scattered resistance cells. The player is in charge of one of those cells, a free town named Charleston Settlement.
Forged Battalion offers conventional resource gathering and base building, as well as unti customisation. The player earns point through campaign missions, skirmish matches, and multiplayer games. These points can be used to unlock additional parts of the tech tree.
With these new technologies, units can be customised and outfitted with different weapons, various types of armour, and other features. Likewise, the opposition will have access to custom units.
