Welcome folks to my next LP this is Hollow Knight by @TeamCherry . I'm doing this completely blind. In this part I watch the intro, and find the town of Dirtmouth in this town everybody is looking for the next surprise. Oh wait sorry that is Halloween Town. You will forgive me if I get it confused this game has a huge Tim Burton feel to it. Anyway where was I oh yeah in the town of Dirtmouth I talk to the only person if you can call them a person named Elder Bug he tells our hero basically that our town used to be prosperous but now it is mostly abandoned. Our hero falls down a well which leads to the Forgotten Crossroads. Wandering around the Forgotten Crossroads our hero encounters a cartographer named Cornifer then manages to run into a huge hulking brute named False Knight. Our hero thinks he has defeated False Knight but then to his horror discovers he has a second form which he runs away from after he finds out that if he breaks the wall next to the metal gate he can escape. After escaping from the False Knight our hero encounters someone called the Snail Shaman who teaches him a spell called Vengeful Spirit. This spell allows our hero to shoot out a ranged attack against enemies. Any spell in this game requires Soul which is basically this game's version of mana or magic power. To get more Soul you must strike enemies with your weapon. After getting the spell it knocks him out the Snail Shaman gave him the spell so he can take out a huge monster in this dungeon known as the Ancestral Mound. Defeating the monster our hero gets a charm called the Soul Catcher. The Soul Catcher increases the amount of soul that you get when you attack a enemy with the nail. I guess the nail is what our hero's sword is called. Our hero finds out he can't get back to the False Knight at least not yet. He does find his way back to the Forgotten Crossroads and encounters another monster like the one he found in the Ancestral Mound after defeating it our hero encounters a new area which is very green appropriately it is called Greenpath after wandering around our hero encounters Cornifer again and buys another map from him. Then he wanders around some more and finds The Hunter which gives him The Hunter's Journal. The Hunter's Journal will fill in automatically when you encounter new enemies telling you what they are and if you defeat enough of a particular enemy will give you special notes about them. For example the enemy encountered in the Ancestral Mound which also guarded the entrance to Greenpath is called an Elder Baldur. Our hero wanders around some more and finds a cute worm trapped in a glass container. Rescuing the cute worm called a Grub and according to someone in the Metroidvania Facebook group rescuing them will get me something from someone called the Grubfather. In the next video I plan to head back to Dirtmouth someone told me I should buy a quill and a compass. Time for alot of backtracking.
