Let's Play Inside (4/4)
1Oddly enough, the linearity of this game works in its favor, I think. The game frequently leaves no choice but a single direction, in some cases informing you of what your character wants, putting you in their shoes a bit. In a sense you are along for the ride as much as they are. Games are weird, in that they are about as varied as a medium can get. Heavy linearity could easily cripple a game's potential, if handled poorly, while in others a lack of focus gives it the potential for emergent gameplay. This game essentially sacrifices nearly every possible choice for the sake of the gameplay never interfering with the gameplay. I've always been happy to go on this ride, but I can see how this might bother someone if they didn't care about the narrative or the carefully crafted atmosphere. I recommend, if only for it's very high density of quality to playtime.
