Maribel Han (Apprentice Barrier Magician?)

Very similar to the previous game, she is a magic caster type that can self buff. Liberated Abilities can't miss, hits all targets, and does Void damage which has no affinity tied to it. Chaotic Quadruple is a single target Dark spell that can cause Death, Shock, and Terror. Overflowing Unnatural Power buffs all of Maribel's stat by a ton but drains a ton of her health as a result. Finally, Mari's DIY Novice Border puts an effect on all allies that make their next attack do more damage.

Passive wise, she can reduce enemy Defenses, she treats enemy Buffs as Debuffs, Buffs decay slower on her, bolster damage after concentrating, and she has synergy with Renko. Go figure.


Renko Usami (Stargazing Student)

Renko has been nerfed since the last game. Galaxy Stop inflicts minor damage while having an extremely high chance of causing the strongest Paralysis effect in the game, Shock, and Silence. But, this spell has been nerfed by also costing the front line 20% of their ATB bar. Charge is back, buffing all stats for the frontline at the cost of one third of their health. Her stats are mediocre overall.

Passive wise, she can increase status resistances. She can double her equipment bonuses like Nitori. She has synergy with Maribel.
