So Akira is probably the weakest character in the game. All his attacks have charge times and most do very little damage. Luckily the game takes that into account... mostly.

This chapter has a world (town) map where you can fight encounters. Encounters scale based on your level and will always give 40 exp per battle all the way up to level 13. After that, you gain no exp but you can still farm for materials if you need them.

This is also the only chapter where you make full use of a robot's capabilities. All robots are unable to gain exp (that includes Cube). But they can be improved by giving them Parts. Each part you feed a robot increase their max hp by ten. Since they can't level, the only way they can learn more skills is by equiping them with robot parts (accessories) where each part gives a different special attack. This is neat as it allows some customization but unfortunately there are not that many parts in the game and most will end up never being used.
