Let's Play Magna Carta 2 - Episode 7 - A confusing introduction to Chain Breaks.
We begin doing some quests in the Abazet Field and I try my best to give an explanation of the Chain Break system in this game.... I swear it will make more sense when you start seeing it used in battle, but it is confusing at first.
Chains occur when a player uses a combo that ends in a skill (not a signature technique) and during that combo you enter Overdrive. When a Chain is ready, you can change to another party member and the stat increases obtained from the first player's Overdrive are carried over, so there is a Damage increase. If the second character in the chain also does a combo that ends in a skill and enters overdrive, then a Chain Break occurs. Chain Breaks instantly drop the stamina bar of both characters in the Chain to empty and they are able to enter the battle right away instead of having to wait to get out of Overheat.
Message to those who actually know the story of the game: Please don't put any form of spoilers in the comments. This game has some VERY epic plot twists that would RUIN this entire story if you gave them out. So please don't hint at anything that hasn't happened story-wise in each episode. I will delete all the comments I deem spoilers, but I may not catch them all right away, so for the sake of those who don't know the story, please don't post spoilers. This includes comments which have been censored as people will still be able to figure out what the comment means even if it is censored.
This will be a 100% quest guide as I am going for the "All Quests Cleared" achievement since I missed it in my first playthrough of the game. This is only my second playthrough so my knowledge about some of the aspects of the game is limited.
I have the "Magnacarta 2 Bonus Pack" DLC installed which comes with weapons for each character which are stronger then every weapon you can get in game (without the DLC). I will not be using those weapons for this playthrough as not everyone will have the DLC, but you can equip the weapons very early on making this game a LOT easier. I did not play through the game with the DLC at the beginning. I only got it after I had already beaten the game.
I will be attempting a strategy during this playthrough that my brother thought of to get all of the skill tree achievements in one playthrough of the game. I will be holding back on learning skills and let my SP climb up high. When I am able to complete a skill tree I will save the file, learn the skills in that tree and then reload the file to get the achievements. More on this later as skills don't come in to play for a while in game.
