Let's Play Mass Effect 1, Blind - [Ep 22] Matriarch Benezia and the Rachni Queen | + Commentary
55Let's Play Mass Effect 1, Blind! In this episode, the ruthless Spectre Shepard finally meets Matriarch Benezia, Liara's mother and powerful ally of Saren. However, Matriarch Benezia isn't all she appears to be. After dealing with Matriarch Benezia, Shepard, Liara, and Garrus go back to the Normandy with their mission on Noveria complete.
The episode begins back at the Rift Station on Noveria. Shepard immediately goes to meet with Matriarch Benezia and a fight breaks out. During the fighting, Matriarch Benezia has a moment of clarity and tells Shepard about the Mu Relay that Saren is also after. The clarity lasts only long enough for Matriarch Benezia to tell Liara that she always made her proud, and it's back to fighting Matriarch Benezia. As Matriarch Benezia lay dying, she claims to not see the light. Poor Liara watched her mother, Matriarch Benezia, not only die but not see the "light" promised to Asari when they die.
After dealing with Matriarch Benezia, it's time to deal with the Rachni Queen. The Rachni Queen speaks to Shepard through one of the dead Asari Commandos. The Rachni Queen tells Shepard what happened to the Rachni, and pleads for Shepard to kill the Rachni children that are crazy. The Rachni Queen also offers Shepard a choice: kill the Rachni Queen, or set the Rachni Queen free.
After choosing how to deal with the Rachni Queen, Shepard goes down to the Hot Labs to deal with the crazy Rachni. After blowing the Rachni up, Shepard has nothing else to do on Noveria and leaves.
