The second stage that I'm doing for this project is Torch Man's, which is set in a campground at night. Most of the level is okay, but the main gimmick is extremely frustrating to deal with. During three parts in the stage, Mega Man is chased by a massive wall of fire that is instant death to touch. By itself, that would be annoying, but manageable, but unfortunately, the level puts fairly tight and intricate arrangements of enemies and terrain in your way, so you really have to know what you're doing to get through unscathed. The Speed Gear can help, and Tundra Man's weapon can give you considerably more time to get away, but I didn't feel the need to use either of them. At least despite how much of a nightmare Torch Man's stage was, his boss fight isn't all that bad. It can still be tricky to react to everything he does, but it's a heck of a lot more fair and fun than "haha insta-kill fire go brrrr".
