Let's Play Mercury (P3)
One more (fairly) quick look at this game. Yeah, there are some bugs in the game, but to be fair this looks to be a very new game at the time of this recording.
The little romp through Chaos Mode shows us how the game's design can be led astray if left unchecked. Lots of values maxed out to their 32-bit storage! Based on what I saw in the generator, I believe it would make the most sense to have a "point buy" system in which the various objects get positives and negatives, which cost positive/negative points. Plenty of games do this with starting player stats (Angband being one of them!) and I think it's very appropriate here.
But yeah, I'll probably check this out if or when someone tells me that it's gotten a lot more refined or somethin'. Not much else to see currently, but I have a good feeling about Mercury's future.
