It's a bit surprising to me, that with over half of the Metroids gone, there are still Alpha's left to fight. You'd think that at this point in the game you'd move on to Zeta's mostly, but you don't. Zeta's are quite tough, so maybe at the time they thought it'd be too hard?

Anyway, after taking out the two Metroids in newly opened part of the previous area, we move on to our next big challenge: Space Jumping!
And the first Zeta Metroid, but it's not too much of a threat since there's no reason not to have nearly full health before this fight. Also, with a full health recharge a mere Gamma fight away, there's not much risk here.
