There were a number of options I considered for the order of the ages. Saavedro's journal is no help, because no matter what you do it's always out of order. If you go by the order of the phrases in Atrus's journal, it's Voltaic, Edanna, Amateria. Saavedro lists the ages in the order Amateria, Edanna, Voltaic in his first video message. The strategy guide goes Voltaic, Amateria, Edanna.

In the end, I decided on this order for two reasons: it puts Saavedro's paintings in chronological order, and it's also the order the ages are sung in the theme song: "Tomahna, Edanna, Amateria, Voltaic, Narayan." :)
