Obsidian is the 1997 point and click adventure by Rocket Science Games and published by SegaSoft
Clearly heavily inspired by Myst (and with a few Myst references in there!), Obsidian is actually a pretty funny game centred around a satellite with nanobots probably doing something to the local landscape which it isn't supposed to be doing... Any more would probably be looking up spoilers.
