Let's Play PSX: Astro Trooper Vanark (Japan)
1Just as I thought! The original Japanese release of Vanark has voice acting. This is much more pleasant with the voice acting, even if you can't quite understand what they're talking about (blah blah, aliens attacking, who cares anyway). However, I also started looking at the files on the disk. A few interesting things I noticed:
The US removed an FMV of Deo taking a shower. Despite being naked, everything is perfectly PG. In the Japanese release this happens after you enter the Women's Private Room after the first mission. After the FMV, you resume right where the US release begins. The main character says "Bad Timing! She's in the shower."
Additionally, the US release has an additional file called "Scene 50". I have no idea what it is. By the number, it might be at the end of the game, or it might be some alternate scene that replaces one earlier in the game (for example, similar to how the Shower scene was removed, there might be a scene that the censors deems too inappropriate for a "Teen" game).
