Let's Play PTO II Episode 2 - January 1942 - Both sides start swingin'!
8In 3 hours, we play through January of 1942. For the Americans, January was a difficult month. The bases at Guam and Davao have been overrun, and Manila is threatened. The Marshall and Gilbert Islands have been taken, giving the US ground troops much needed breathing room and a solid defensive perimeter in the central Pacific. Three destroyers were lost for these gains, but several Japanese divisions were wiped out.
February begins with our sixth aircraft carrier, the Hornet, and two Atlanta class cruisers reinforce the Wasp carrier squadron. Unfortunately, despite having large amounts of clout as a result of January's successes, we were unable to secure funding for technology growth. As a result, all areas have stagnated slightly. If this keeps up and politicans continue to intervene, we run the risk of losing our industrial advantage.
