The Antarctic base seems to have been built above a recreation of the Spencer Mansion that Chris visited in Resident Evil 1. Just what is happening here?

Resident Evil Code: Veronica is a survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. It was originally released on the Sega Dreamcast in 2000. It was ported to the Sony PlayStation 2 in 2001 and Nintendo GameCube in 2003 as Code: Veronica X. High-definition versions were released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011. The version played here is the 2001 Code: Veronica X release on the PS2.
The franchise has spawned fourteen "mainline" games as well as fifteen spinoffs. Outside of games, Resident Evil has been adapted into seven feature films, animated films and series, a live-action series, novels, comics and even plays.
