Rimworld’s one of those games where you tell yourself “I’ll just play five more minutes so I can get this one thing finished before I forget”. Then a pirate raiding party arrives and two hours later you’re still chopping up the corpses to feed your starving survivors.

The Combat Realism mod adds a few wrinkles to the game, particularly by making combat a lot more deadly, and delaying the use of defense turrets until after some research has been completed.
