A test play through to check the recording quality of the AverMedia Game Capture HD II.

This was recorded on Playstation 3, and as such, is only in 1080i, since full HD signal interception is blocked by Sony.

Additionally, there are issues with playing Rocksmith through the capture unit. The signal from an electric guitar is complex and HDMI cables struggle to transmit the sound of the guitar. This results in a delay that you can clearly hear in this video.

The normal way around this is too play the sound through component audio cables into a dedicated sound setup like some external speakers. This is the setup I usually adopt, but it meant that I would not be able to capture any sound for this video.

Im looking at ways around this now, but due to the lack of an additional sound output slot on the capture unit, I fear that this particular piece of hardware will not be a good fit for Rocksmith videos from the PS3.
