Continuing on from the previous part, I talk to the people living in Manarina.
The most important person to talk to here is Anri, who is the daughter of the deceased king of Guardiana.
After hearing of her father's death, Anri wants to be alone for a bit.
But with Nova urging us to remind her of her duty, I find her and talk to her again.
Having giving it some thought, Anri decides to join us in our quest to defeat the evil forces of Runefaust.
Along with getting Anri to join the shining force, there is a lot of other people to talk to.
While most of them don't have much to say, there are a few amusing interactions with some of the mages. (One of them even turns us into a hen!)
Aside from the nameless npcs, there is also a knight named Arthur, who is a character that you can recruit into the shining force after the next battle.
Another optional thing to do here is pick up a domingo egg that one of the mages tells us to take with us. (This mage also tells us to come back to talk to him later on.)
Moving on from all of that, the main objective is to talk to Onrant, who has the most knowledge in Manarina. (As another npc previously said, he supposedly knows everything there is to know!)
He tells us to go into the cavern of darkness below Manarina to retrieve the orb of light.
And that leads to the next battle in the game.
This battle has a bunch of zombies, giant bats, snipers, mages, and a skeleton guarding the treasure chest containing the orb of light.
Compared to the previous battle, this one is actually a bit easier to get through.
But with that being said, two members of the shining force do end up falling in this battle. (Those mages are tough!)
After eventually winning the battle, I obtain the orb of light.
With the orb of light obtained, Onrant tells us to go to the pool near the entrance to the cavern of darkness, and use the orb of light there.
Doing this summons a spirit who tells us about Darksol, and how he is trying to find the key to unlock the door to the ancients.
After urging us to stop him, the spirit disappears.
Returning to Onrant after this, he tells us to take a ship from Rindo to get to the eastern continent.
Along with talking to Onrant, I also talk to most of the other npcs again. (The mage that gave us the domingo egg just tells us the same thing Onrant told us.)
Before leaving Manarina, I talk to Arthur again.
Inspired to fight, he joins the shining force.
And so with some new characters joining the shining force, and a clear next objective, what will happen next? Find out in the next part!
