Lets Play: "Slay The Spire" Part 52 (The Watcher Ascension 5 Run 5)
1WE MADE IT BOYS! WAHOOOOO!
We're still making some crucial mistakes that I need to improve on but we finally made it through ascension five with The Watcher and man the deck felt great! It was a mix between stance dancing, scrying, and having insane energy to just do everything we needed to very quickly and efficently. Spirit Shield is an insane card that we misused for basically the entire run but at the end we realized our mistakes but it still worked out! Key players here include Sands of Time, an INSANE damage card that I now LOVE. Windmill Strike, another huge hitting that we often got to play for free thanks to our Swivel card. Of course we had a few of the classics like Talk to the Hand, Mental Fortress and multiple copies of upgraded Tantrum, all the while having enough reliable ways to get out of wrath and back into calm while also putting up enough block to survive the hits. We dipped very low and almost threw the run from ONE mistake that left our opponent at one life BUT we clutched it up and we'll count the math better next time! I am getting confident enough now where I'm starting to play too fast.. I need to slow down sometimes and really calculate the turns. Anyways, I think I'm going to name this deck "The Calm Before The Sandstorm" because often times it felt like I was just controlling the fight and letting my Sands of Time card slowly tick down, getting cheaper and cheaper until we unleased hell and destroyed everyone in our way. I had a blast with this one but I have to be honest, I'm relieved our next run will be with The Ironclad. See you gamers in the next one!
