And so ends Digital Devil Saga. The game that tried really, really hard to promote the whole "yay happy peace friendship PROMISE" etc. mentality, and failed miserably. Why? At no point did it help, at no point was it an honest option, and at no point did I fail to get stronger by devouring people whole. Or mostly whole. Argilla showed mercy for Bat, who turned into a recurring mini-boss after eating Argilla's all-important friend or whatever. And Sereph Lore? Would have been useful...if Seraph didn't get, oh say, REINCARNATE at the same time. Gale adopted Lupa's stance on honour and emotion, and ended up convincing Fred to do the same, thereby dooming him to an existence of being made out to be a crybaby even though the whole "friend got killed, canned and eaten" backstory is rather valid, if incredibly uninteresting considering that was the fate for a whole lot of red shirts. Good thing the remnant of the Karma Society recognised the need for therapists after the remainder of humanity was diagnosed with various forms and severities of PTSD. Anyway, Cielo gave the last standing member of the Tribvana a "you suck" speech, which was suitably illogical considering all the enemies he had to eat in order to stand a chance against him. Heat finally learned that everyone truly are comrades, and was promptly reduced to a bench warming item dispenser because I didn't need him in my party at all.

What "word" was Seraph talking about? It better be "WMD" (does that count as "one word" though?) because nothing, I repeat, NOTHING else allowed me to accomplish anything in either DDS games. The tribe leaders had to die for the Embyon to ascend to Nirvana, Madame had to die in order to stop her plan from using Sera as a chill pill (question, but isn't it possible to record her song and use that? Her voice and a recording thereof are slash would be both data, so it should be able to work. How else could she be heard across the globe anyway?), Angel had to die in order to stop her from stopping us from...saving the world (apparently she caught Acute Plot-Related Suicide Committing Syndrome), and Braham had to "die" in order to convince Him that humanity was worth tolerating. As commanded by Angel so long ago, I rended(?), I slaughtered, and I devoured my enemy, from their dead bodies I gained strength, and through that I gained victory, Star Wars reference not intended.
