Disclosure: To better review the game in a short period of time, reviewers were given a set of "competitive viable" decks including the relevant cards, 100000 "coins" (ingame currency) 5000 "crystals" (premium currency). I don't actually use the review decks much in this video (just Raging Flames IIRC) because I was learning my new Wisdom starter.
I forced myself to play with the starter decks and without touching the ingame currencies at all for a while to judge how the game is to start. IMO the grind is noticeable but not too bad. Simply playing matches, especially ranked matches (even if you lose) will get you to level 5 very quickly and level 10 within maybe a week, every 5 levels is a new starter deck and an extra possible Daily Quest. It's not quite Pokemon TGC for Gameboy in terms of giving out free cards, but it's not super exploitative either.
