Thanks to the sacrifice of Tassadar, The Overmind lies dead, leaving nothing more than a husk of the former master of the Zerg. However, the Broods on Aiur still run rampent, laying waste to what remains of the once glorious Protoss civilization. The Protoss leaders agree that Aiur is lost for now and that they must flee to sancutary. Zeratul suggests that they meet with the Dark Templar Matriarch, Razsagal, who could offer them refuge. Without any other options, the Protoss prepare to make their exodus to Shakuras.
