In retrospect, the first Super bonk took the series to absurd new heights, but it was done in a very enjoyable way. I'd say the first Super Bonk is probably my favorite of the Bonk series. I can't really think of anything bad to say about it. The last boss was epic, certainly better than Bonk 3 or Bonk's Revenge, though I do very much enjoy the gameplay of Bonk's Revenge. I'm torn as to what my favorite last boss is though, between Super Bonk and Bonk's Adventure. I can't really decide because they are so very different. Super Bonk's last boss was more cinematic, and more of an experience, with progression. Bonk's Adventure, on the other hand, was just a drag-out brawl. It was big, it was evil, it was nasty, and there was no nice way to fight him aside from just tearing him up faster than he tears you up. It really felt like a struggle in that regard, but in a very good way. You were guaranteed to eat through lives on it, which is something Super Bonk 2 simply can not do since it takes you back to a checkpoint when you die. As such, it forces you to repeat something over and over again until you get it perfect, when every other Bonk game let you Iron Man your way through a fight. You learned as you fought, but still screwed yourself up if you lost too many lives. You could still make progress though, so it wasn't irritating. There is little in a videogame more irritating than being taken back to a previous spot over and over, being forced to do a simple task over and over just because of a simple mistake later on.
