Is this the first time I've ever played a game in a single session? It kind of feels like it. I AM SO GLAD I PLAYED THE BEGINNER'S GUIDE. People have been recommending this since I played the Stanley Parable over a year and a half ago (yikes) but I haven't gotten around to it until just now. I'm kind of glad I waited, though. I think the more life experience and emotional maturity you have, the more you get out of this game. Or maybe you just get something different. Either way, it was a profoundly moving experience. And not in the way I expected it to be. I was glad it departed from the expected narrative about depression. Yes, it was about depression, but it wasn't a simple or straightforward exploration of one person's depression. It dug into more layered, more fundamental problems. And it was fascinating.
So, I cried during the housecleaning section. I also wound up talking for about ten minutes just pouring out some more feelings. But I guess that's why we're here? To have feelings? -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/laurentheflute
