Let's Play The Dark Mod - No Honour Among Thieves, Mission 2: A Night Out On The Town (2.10)
4We revisit No Honour Among Thieves, the first campaign for The Dark Mod, in high definition. I was dissatisfied with how Version 3 turned out overall, which is why I didn't remake these videos as soon as I switched from making standard definition to high definition TDM videos. Since then, however, Version 4 came out, and I can definitely say I'm very satisfied with how it turned out.
This is a playthrough of the second mission, A Night Out On The Town. Version 4 gives this mission a slight overhaul visually, and there are some new areas and extra readables to be found. It's now entirely possible to beat this mission without harming anyone, as the guards inside the City Watch station no longer remain at their desks. There are two things you need to be aware of in this version, however. The first is that your stash is no longer automatically added to your inventory, instead spawning next to the dresser in your room, so you need to pick it up before you head out. The second is that with the repositioning of the lighting, the civilian standing in front of a City Watch guard with a coin purse on his belt is now hostile rather than neutral, but you can still grab the purse without him seeing much of you.
Some stuff people can react to when you take them, but it doesn't affect avoiding the City Watch in any way - if you see the civilian at the docks suddenly rush towards the blacksmith with his dagger out, it's because the blacksmith will become alert the instant he notices his key disappearing, and because the civilian is on the same team, he rushes to help look for you - by that time, you will have already moved on, so it doesn't matter much. The two men will turn hostile towards you afterwards, but it won't affect the City Watch patrols because they're on a different team. Some of the loot in the pub is still set so the patrons have a chance of reacting to their disappearance, but if you snuff out the appropriate lights beforehand, the chances of them discovering their disappearance should be much lower.
Expert difficulty adds an extra smuggler in the hideout.
