After being reminded of this game during the retrospective, I decided that it deserved a bit more complete look. There is a long and somewhat confusing history as to how this game made its way to the North American side, and it's actually kind of interesting if you really take a deep dive and care about this sort of thing.
At any rate, our goal when we start the game is to climb the paradise tower. Nothing really outright tells you this, you just kind of have to figure it out. The first step is opening the door that lets you in there in the first place. But to do that, we'll have to solve the problems in the first area. What problems? The game is still vague on that, so far.
I just hope you like grinding out money, because you're going to have to do a lot of it. I also hope you like charts, because if you want any control over your monster's advancement, you're going to have to either learn the system, or find the charts people have made that explains it. And it's not all that straightforward.
