Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to my new Let's Play project, a Let's Play of Unreal Tournament for the PS2! Yes, Unreal Tournament on a console! The original Unreal Tournament, released in 1999 for the PC, remains one of the most celebrated and beloved first-person shooters of all time, with a dedicated and loyal fan-base that continues to play the game to this day. The console ports for the PS2 and Dreamcast aren't as well-remembered, and not entirely without reason. Like many PC-to-Console ports, Unreal Tournament is best played on the PC, and I actually own the Game-of-the-Year edition. However, the PS2 version is the one that I played first, and that is why I decided to do it as my next LP.
In this episode, we start the project by creating a new profile and beginning our climb through the ranks of Unreal Tournament with the Deathmatch ladder. We kick things off with the first two matches of the tournament, with Oblivion and Stalwart. Like I always do, I hope to make a good LP of this game. Even if the PS2 version isn't as good as the original PC version, I think it needs some love, and it's not all bad. So, here's to a great LP!
