This week, we try out Warhammer 40.000 : Battlesector, from 2021.
Have to say, I'm going into that one kind of blind. Warhammer 40k is something I've been looking at for a while, but I don't have the cash, the patience, the space, or the friends to play any.
Just kidding, I actually have a lot of friends who play (or, at this point, only collect) Warhammer 40.000 gear, read the books and have the stuff.
But it's so dense, I needed an access door into it. So as I needed a new game to play for the channel, let's go!
Warning: I only know Warhammer 40k lore by osmosis, from reading stuff posted by friends etc. I know it's a space-fantasy based very loosely on Warhammer, I know there are Orks, I know it's one of the inspiration for Starcraft (which I played a lot back in the late 90s).
From what I understand, it's also extremely sarcastic and second-degree, which I sure hope is true considering the heavy-handed religious weirness we see in the very first missions of the game.
And the fact that we keep being orders to recover the seed of fallen soldiers.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy, be you a newcomer to the Warhammer 40k universe like me, or an old Imperium reservist yelling at their screen because I'm getting all of the story wrong.
