Hello everyone, Fima's here, and this is my first letsplay this fall, and, a sad one, cayse i have to say goodbye to some sound hardware, thart i was using to record audio, for letsplays/videos here, from 2018 here, tho.
So this particular video, is a farewell and goodbye to my ancient, epic, Sound Blaster Audidgy 2 ZS Platinum Pro, from (in)famous Creative Labs here. Its a half-consumer, half-professional/musician monstrous audio card, with the external box, full-sized MIDI i/o poirts, SPDIF Coaxial/Optical in/out ports, and three analog in ports, and a instrumental, 6.3mm jacks on the box itself. Monstrous, eh?) They dont do things like this nowadays... Sadly enough, last year, Daniel_K finished its last custom "Audidgy Support Pack" here, a custom driver solution, based on official Creative drivers, that was allowed older hardware, to fully function, on newer OS'es here, like mine.(PS. My card, was designed with Windows XP and 9x in mind, so nothing meaningful past these two OS'es here, tho.) I was used this card, under aging Windows 8.1 Pro x64, which in turn, will also be EOL starting next year here, tho. These drivers are allow function on Windows 10 though, but not past iit, as the attempt to do this for Windows 11, is just like to pull the owl on a globus here, tho. It is wont work properly here, so the Win 10 is the last current OS for these old cards here, tho. Another nail in the coffin of this great and epic card here, is that it is based on a aso ancient now, the "Conventional PCI" bus interface here, not the modern and current, PCIe/PCI Express bus here. Modern and high-end/Workstation PC's dont feature this bus nowadays, only the Business-oriented, and lower/low-cost motherboards here of course. Time to move on, yeah. So ive, after some reserch, decided to split my card in two here, one fo all daily and consumer here, and the second one, will be dedicated to creating music/high fidelity recording tho. The consumer side, will be covered with my next Sound Blaster card, on PCIe, but still with one SPDIF Optical in here, and one analog line in/mic in input here. The name's :Sound Blaster Z", which is lying right by me on desk, waiting to set up in, tho. I konw this is a 8-9yr old now, but i cant afford more expensive here, and desktop cards, arent offer this wide of interfaces, as my mammonth Audugy 2 ZS was. So i choosen this one, its basic, yet all essential ins/outs are here, tho. Especially the Optical SPDIF in, which is essential for my PlayStation 2 here, and many consoles from that era here, tho. The second place is currently open here, though im thinking about a Professional USB sound card/imterface here, from Roland's "Edirol" brand here, which is pretty costly, but not too impossible here, i think. Also i plan to buy a separate MIDI interface here, with many in/out pairs of ports here, probably from Behringer, to connect all my old Syntheisers here, like the Yamaha SY35 i have here, or the (in)famous DX7, or others of its kind here, tho.

All sound you hear in this video, is coming from Optical SPDIF interface of Aududgy 2 ZS, the Mic is Logitech's C920 Webcam, and the video feed, is presented by the AverMedia C027 PCIe capture card. All recorded in OBS Studio 27.x.x, the last one, with support of Windows 8.xm and 32-bit OS'es here, tho.
