I talk about pixel men for too long in this video. I was aiming to put out a general list of where the current-day, weird little community FFV has somehow accrued places all the various little pixel men. It turned out waaaaaaay too long, but I had fun doing it so here it is. If you want me to rank anything else for way too long, I probably will if you ask me to. I've written a huge closing statement in the text down here on all the poor decisions I made in the video, so if somehow an hour 17 isn't enough for you, there's more down there. Maybe check that before leaving a comment if there's something specific you're unsure about/disagree on, but I don't really mind repeating myself if it's a bit much.

Final thoughts from a day later: (Spoilers, btw)

I think frequently, possibly all of the time, my attempts to organise the classes within categories ended up somewhat nonsensical. Obviously Red Mage isn't better than Freelancer, Monk isn't worse than Berserker, etc.

From the top, I should probably have read up on Cannoneer's actual abilities (I still haven't). The fact that people mention him in the same breath as Chemist means I have to stick him in broken just to be safe. The other two are 100% broken.

Wizard tier should probably include Mystic Knight, Bard and Samurai - you could argue Samurai is as good as any of them, and in terms of just damage output he is better. I believe you get the Time Mage Meteor spell from Gogo at the bottom of the sea, and while I hate going there it's not too far out of the way, especially if you have a class who wants to do forked tower. Also forgot to mention the Odin and Shoat summons which are extremely good in a few places, Odin particularly since he ignores heavy. I also meant to point out that Time Mage Quick spells cost insane amounts of MP, but I think I forgot - the spell is more useful for cheese moves than it is just generally useful.

Not Wizard tier should be removed, and Ninja should be moved down to good. He's the best 'good' class, but he's nowhere near the others in 'Not Wizard'. I'd have Ninja, Knight, Gladiator, Freelancer, Ranger and Beastmaster in this tier, and move the rest down to a new 'Niche' tier, for classes who have compositions or moments they are good in, but can alternatively be a waste of a slot. Dancer is a lifesaver if your team doesn't do any damage and Mime has obvious applications but only if you have anything for him to mimic, for example. One last note, Mimic copies the target as well as the action, so you can't really use him to spread buffs (a 1000 IQ player can reflect a reflect off of a reflect you just set and onto the enemy/a random ally if they get the opportunity though).

The Bad and ANGRY tier characters I'm happy with, although again I'm not super sure on what Oracle does, only that it's stupid. I remember Geomancers can actually do good stuff in some biomes, I think deserts? Obviously Berserker is the worst class in the game, but I really think Monk is down there with him. Monks can counterattack when they get hit but I didn't mention it because it isn't very good.

Necromancer is actually not a class in this video game, it's a common misconception.

This whole thing was very fun, although obviously I need to try waffling less and spitting pertinent information more. Maybe I could complain about Monk less while I'm at it.
