Let's Read Eragon #1: Is It As Bad As The Internet Claims?
4If you were on the internet in the 2000s, you might have heard a little bit about a book called Eragon, a High Fantasy novel by Christopher Paolini. If there's one thing I remember from that time, it's the sheer amount of bile and vitriol heaped upon this book and its sequels. Having read a little bit of this book in the past, I always wondered why it was so hated...after all, from what I'd read it didn't seem any better or worse than other fantasy novels at the time.
So in this series I'm going to read through the entirety of Eragon and see if I can suss out why it was the internet despised this book so much. This episode and the one following will be available to everyone on YouTube, but subsequent episodes will only be available to my supporters on Patreon.
