It just occurred to me why there doesn't seem to be so much a cohesive narrative here, as just a series of events in this kid Peter Hatcher's life while he was nine/ten. The title is TALES of a Fourth Grade Nothing, after all. So it makes sense that this book reads more like random entries - all taking place within the same school year - from Peter's journal. XD
