Welcome to the first installment of our multi-part series on scripting the game Overboss in Tabletop Simulator! In this video, we'll be exploring the basics of the game and setting up the board and components within Tabletop Simulator. I'm very all over the place as doing this video came after I had done a lot of the work. I hope to be more organized in future videos. I'm very much a novice, but I still think there is value in documenting my journey. I hope to learn a lot along the way. Any criticism is welcome.
In this video, I go over what I have previously written. I start with a mod that already had assets scanned in and a custom table and background. I go over fixing the snap points and cover the early stages of my player detector and tile distribution.
Overboss is a competitive tile-laying game where players take on the role of evil overlords, building out their own unique lairs in order to amass the most power and dominate the realm. With a variety of different factions and tiles to choose from, each game of Overboss offers a unique experience and a different path to victory.
Whether you're a seasoned Tabletop Simulator veteran or new to the platform, this series is designed to document my progress and hopefully help people along the way. So grab your favorite beverage, settle in, and join us as we dive into the world of evil overlords and tile-laying strategy.
