About Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (according to GameInformer):
The big news that surfaced before Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII was officially unveiled was this would be the first entry in the series to not feature a dedicated single-player campaign. This was later officially confirmed, and is an understandable disappointment for players who gravitate towards those campaigns, but the lack of that mode does not represent a dearth of content for the fourth Black Ops game.
Multiplayer has been overhauled significantly this time with specialized classes leading to stronger diversity among matches and teams. Medics assist with healing (which no longer happens automatically), Recons reveal details about the map (which is now covered in a fog of war), and other specialists will be able to lay down razor wire to prevent the competition from encroaching on your area, which details just a few of the types of soldiers you will be able to play as.
Zombies is also a much more significant part of the game with three dedicated zombie modes planned. Single-player fans can play through the familiar zombie mode with bots and varying difficulty levels this time, or focus on the familiar online cooperative campaign.
Developer Treyarch also showed a mode with players standing their ground in a gladiatorial arena using melee weapons to hold back the zombie onslaught culminating in a battle against a giant zombie boss and a mode taking place on the Titanic. Finally, a mode called Blood of The Dead has been promised, but it’s currently unclear exactly what this mode is and what it brings to the Call of Duty’s zombie gameplay.
Finally, the mode everyone saw coming, and welcomes with open arms: Black Ops IIII will have the Call of Duty take on the increasingly popular Battle Royale mode. Called Blackout here, the mode will task players with surviving in a map 1,500 times larger than any map in Call of Duty history. It will also feature land, sea, and air vehicles, the latter of which has not yet been explored by the Battle Royale competition.
