6Here's my Let's Try of Cecconoid (PC), a 2D retro-inspired/arcade twin-stick-shooter, developed and published by Triple Eh? Ltd. It was released on Oct 8, 2019 for the PC.
In this title, you pilot the Samurai-1 fighter. Your mission to save the ship Equinox from Stormlord and his robotic minions, the Exolons.
Much easier said than done though. Your ship starts with a pea-shooter, three lives, and can only endure one hit before exploding. The game begins simple enough, but the difficulty ramps up quickly. It's certainly hearkening back to the early arcade era of gaming.
My overall impressions of the demo were mixed. Controls are fine. Combat can be frantic, punishing those with improper aiming and positioning. However, I'd only recommend this title to those who are interested in difficult retro/arcade-like twin-stick shooters. Even then, I'd wait for a small price drop. It accomplishes what it sets out to be - a lean arcade experience that incentivizes repeated playthroughs via high scores.
