Level 10 WW Barbarian vs Lost Archives (Dungeon) | Diablo IV Early Access Beta
Lost Archives was a dungeon that I believe I did complete during the Endgame beta last year, but apart from the boxes on pedestal mechanic, I couldn't tell you much about my initial impressions of it back then.
What I *will* say, however, is that a lot of the complaints that I've been seeing from content creators and people about the dungeons lacking mechanical variety is something I agree with. While I've experienced dungeons in all the Endgame beta zones as well — and the tilesets and stuff are more varied than much of what you got to experience in the Fractured Peaks — there are only so many 'event chunks' for each half of the dungeon.
►collect animus orbs from a particular trash mob type
►collect animus orbs from elite/specific named mobs
►collect keys from specific enemies to open door
►collect items to put on pedestals
►kill all enemies in an area
►kill specific enemies in an area
►defeat a mid boss/multi-boss
►kill specific construct/items in an area
►find a lever/multiple levers/controls to open a gate
►free X number of prisoners
►defeat an end boss
Adding the various modifiers for the Nightmare dungeons does something to alleviate this repetitiveness, though.
That being said, what do you really expect from an ARPG endgame? They are ALWAYS repetitive. And keep in mind this is coming from someone who really didn't mind the Rifts/Greater Rifts system in Diablo 3 for mindless grinding...

NOTES:
►Sidequests WERE in the Endgame beta, in all zones not just the starter area, thus I've done many of them but obviously am not talking about the ones outside the Fractured Peaks.
►I've 'only' played 217 hours of Barbarian in Diablo 3, but I really enjoy the spin2win lazy Barbarian playstyle just for mindless grinding.
►The other analogies from D3 are Wizard (182 hours) and Demon Hunter (98 hours) so I definitely don't play those classes much. (Necromancer 194 hours, Monk 279 hours, Witch Doctor 527 hours, Crusader 592 hours).
►Note that these times are only for the PC release. I also played a lot of the Switch version. Brings my total up to probably 2200 hours (I no longer have a Switch to check my play time.)
