LG Optimus 4X HD review: Quadcore phone with Ice Cream Sandwich. We take a look at the first quadcore phone to be announced in 2012. Better news is that the LG Optimus 4X HD release date is set for March

Under the hood you'll find a mammoth 1.5GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor all of which will then be aided by 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

Displaying all this power is a 4.7-inch 1280x720p IPS True HD screen which not only puts it directly in line to rival the current Samsung Galaxy Nexus but will also make it the second handset to have a true HD screen.

LG have made the decision to go with Android Ice Cream Sandwich as the operating system marking it as their first ICS smartphone straight out of the box.

On the back you'll find what appears to be a 8MP snapper with a 1.3MP front-facing camera for video calls etc, no word as yet on what other functions the camera will have.

The LG Optimus 4X HD has been officially unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2012. LG's first quad-core smartphone was first outed on the company's website earlier this month but has been given an official airing in Barcelona. It joins the Huawei Ascend D Quad as the latest high-powered handsets on the market.

Packing some monster specs this Ice Cream Sandwich iPhone 5 rival was unveiled at LG's launch event in Barcelona.
