The LG Smart TV upgrader has one task in mind,turn your older HDTV set to an internet capable TV. The unit itself is small compact and fitting as you can see in our hardware tour. Packing feature sets such as DLNA functions, Wi-Fi connectivity and the ability to add external storage via USB connectivity. The LG achieve its HDTV transformation through 4 key segments:
Providing stream audio and video services
Providing Apps and an App store
Web browsing
Allow you to stream you own content (DLNA functionality)
Conclusion
The LG Smart TV box does have its ups and downs, with the lack of apps in the app store and the web browser deficiencies. But on the up side, it does work effectively with streaming video services and its streaming capabilities are the best on the market in reference to DLNA capabilities. Thank full the issues with the device can be amended with a software update but the benefit it provides does justify its purchase. I can't say enough of its DLNA capabilities. The questions remains is the LG Smart TV upgrader a buy, my answer is YES!! I just hope LG release a model that allows HDM-in to allow seamless transition from TV to Smart TV
