A solid final boss in a game full of great bosses.

While I do have a few nitpicks about it, the overall experience was pretty good; it's one of those bosses where you're full of aggravation until you complete it, and then the mix of relief and satisfaction blunts the sticking points.

My biggest issue is that I think it's a bit much; in both phases, I feel like the boss has just a few too many attack sequences that look too similar to really adapt to. It's not actually unreadable, but the roadblock put in your way is just gimmicky enough that it feels less like a strong demand and more like a trick. I'm also a bit annoyed that the boss isn't staggered by attacks aside from damage thresholds; this makes sense to prevent you from stunlocking the final boss, but it does make finding gaps to attack feel more formulaic, when it should feel more like a dance.

The other big issue I have, particularly in phase 2, is just how often the boss pushes out from the fight; you spend a surprising amount of time moving back in to range after attack strings. This also drops off as you get better at perfect blocking, and the boss has built in staggers if you block the right moves, but it was still a noticeable amount of chasing.

Again though, those are just minor issues with what is overall a solid fight that will definitely be a fun revisit in future playthroughs.
