Ikazuchi no Senshi Raidy III ~Gyakushuu no Jashinkan~

The third game in the Lighting/Thunder Warrior Raidy series of games released much much later considering that 1 & 2 was originally made for the good ol' PC-98, then remade for PC-Windows in the early 2000's, before LWR3 was made in the 2010's. When I saw it being released, I felt like I had to buy it. Limited Edition and all, but I never played it until now and I have to say...

I am rather disappointed by what I see.

It's still a competent dungeon crawler but they've done nothing new with it. You still have to rely on triggers on the map to find treyshure chests and other stage relevant things, leading to you running around a lot in circles. Compare this to virtual - ANY - Dungeon crawler and you'll see just how extremely barebones Raidy is. No pun intended.

The game is just as hard as previous iterations as well. I cut away the first fight I did but I had to chug potions like a madwoman because the very first enemy had a ton of health and did pretty heft damage. That's when I decided to do the merge-system and I found out that, don't pick Tis until at least Lv 3 because she'll miss everything. Pick Fonfon or Folles because they're more reliable early. After that, Raidy/Tis one-shots pretty much everything.

You can see this missing-in-action when I fight the boss.

Storywise however, LWR3 is jampacked with story compared to it's earlier games. I cannot speak for LWR2 since I never could find it back in the day and I've frankly not played much of the PC-98 version of it ( though I have acquired that one ), but the first game in the series pretty much threw you into the Dungeon within the first five minutes. Not so in the third game, this was a THREE HOUR STORY ( unless you choose to skip the Prologue of course ) so I had to do some serious cutting just to cut out a lot of the fat. Yet retaining some of the funny scenes.

Raidy's companions are just such hilarious trolls to her. I have to say that Tis is my personal favorite of the trintet. She's calm, she eats like a horse, she's got that cute fang going on, and she's a bit of a goofball. I started laughing when she said with all sincerity and sadness in her voice that they were the Victims here because Raidy busted in the door to their lair and ruined their homes xD

I added some special edits so whenever you spot them ( will also mark them with timecodes ), you can expect several scenes that's been cut in-between to split the video down into a much smaller time since the unedited mass was almost 4 hours long.

A part of me recommends this and a part don't. If you are curious however you can buy it from JAST's website ( Google JAST USA ), along with LWR1 and LWR2.
