AMD and OpenAI Strike Multi-Year AI Chip Deal
AMD and OpenAI have entered a multi-year agreement for AMD to supply AI chips to OpenAI. As part of the deal, OpenAI could acquire up to a 10% stake in AMD. The announcement sent AMD’s shares soaring over 34%, boosting its market value by roughly $80 billion — marking the company’s largest one-day gain in over nine years. LTIMindtree Lands Its Biggest Deal Yet
Indian IT services giant LTIMindtree has secured its largest-ever contract, valued at around $580 million, with a major international media and entertainment company. The client’s identity hasn’t been disclosed, but the deal highlights LTIMindtree’s growing global footprint, even amid challenges in the $283 billion Indian IT industry like changes in U.S. immigration policies, tariffs, and macroeconomic uncertainty.
Airtel Business to Secure Indian Railway Digital Network
The Indian Railway Security Operations Centre (IRSOC) has awarded Airtel Business a multi-year contract to safeguard the digital backbone of India’s railway network. Airtel will implement a multi-layer security system with centralized controls, protecting end-to-end operations for 160,000 employees across 26 locations. The initiative promises robust, compliant security for one of India’s largest digital infrastructures.
Paytm Launches AI-Powered Rap Summaries with Playback
Paytm is turning finance into fun with Playback, an AI tool that creates custom rap summaries of users’ spending history. Available in the “Balance & History” section of the Paytm app, Playback turns mundane transaction data into catchy, original rap verses. Currently in beta for high-transaction users, Paytm plans to refine the experience based on user feedback.
Instagram Maps Arrives in India
Instagram is bringing its interactive Maps feature to India, giving users more control over how their location is shared. Following its U.S. and Canada launch in August, Instagram clarified that users’ locations are only visible if they voluntarily share them. The feature helps users explore posts and businesses nearby while maintaining privacy transparency.
