Linux native Direct3D (Gallium Nine) performance is similar to Vulkan based Direct3D (DXVK). This is good news for older graphics cards which do not have Vulkan support. See below for details.

DXVK v1.81 for Direct3D to vulkan
Gallium Nine v0.8 for Direct3D (https://github.com/iXit/wine-nine-standalone)
Installing latest Mesa driver for AMD and Intel on Ubuntu:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kisak/kisak-mesa
sudo apt update
sudo apt-get upgrade
For Gallium Nine support in amdgpu driver:
sudo apt install libd3dadapter9-mesa libd3dadapter9-mesa:i386
and also use software update tool from Ubuntu to upgrade all the remaining packages
