Overall, the LMDE desktop is a very user-friendly way to branch out from the newbie friendly Ubuntu tree. A responsive, traditional, stable desktop with a vast package repository and responsible updates to your packages is really all you could ask for in a modern operating system designed to get work done with minimal fuss.
