502The new Scythe Mugen 5 Revision C is the exact same cooler in every way as the Scythe Mugen 5 and the Mugen 5 Revision B, with one exception - the mounting plate. Due to CPU socket changes for the newest CPUs, the Mugen 5 cooler was more than required to cool the newest chips, but the mounting plate would not fit. As a result, Scythe simply altered the mounting plate to include compatibility with new CPU sockets. There is no need to test the cooler, as nothing else has changed. The Scythe Mugen 5 Revision C performs exactly the same as Revison B and the original Mugen 5 (Revision A). Same cooler, same CFM, same heatsink, same mounting technique, same depth, same weight but the price is about $6 more than the previous revision (though, with inflation, that price may have increased regardless.)
TL;DR: If you like the Mugen 5, this is the same Mugen 5! No anxiety, no issues. Same cooler, same fan, same thermal material, only a very slightly different backplate. Nothing to see here, move along...

Stay away from motherboards like the Gigabyte B460M DS3H AC Y1-R. There will never be any BIOS updates and there is only one video output (HDMI) on the board. These boards were made by Gigabyte for system integrators to use and support (such as Dell and HP) and were never intended to be sold in the retail channel. Pay less = get less!)
