LIVE: rFactor 2 GT Challenge Series Season 4 - Round 1
78The fourth season of the GT Challenge Series, held using rFactor 2, kicks off today as a packed field of GT3 - equipped esports talent – all fighting for the prize of a GT Pro Series grid slot for Season 5.
Season 3 champion, Matt Richards, managed to finish seventh and fourth in his GT Pro debut earlier this week, so keep an eye on the Challenge Series for the next esports stars.
The race calendar and format largely echo GT Pro Series, so a direct comparison between the two championships can be made.
The Friday following each GT Pro round, GT Challenge will visit the same venue. So, the opening round is Monza, followed by five subsequent rounds at some of the virtual world’s finest venues.
At each round, there will be a qualifying session, a Sprint Race and a Feature Race. Qualifying will be a 15-minute dash for the pole, followed by the shorter 15-minute race, with the grid set from the timed session.
The second, longer, race of each round will last 45 minutes, with the grid also set based upon qualifying results, but with the top 10 reversed.
Drivers qualify for GT Challenge using the in-game Competition System – allowing those with the platform the opportunity to enter, with the top split broadcast live.

The live broadcast on YouTube and Facebook for each round starts at 6.55 pm BST / 7.55 pm CEST / 10.55 am PT / 13.55 pm ET.
Qualifying: 15 mins, Race 1: 15 mins, Race 2: 45 mins.

8th October: Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
22nd October: Indianapolis Road Course
