Splitgate 2 is an upcoming free-to-play, multiplayer first-person shooter developed by 1047 Games, set to release in 2025 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Building on the original Splitgate's success, it retains the signature portal mechanics that blend fast-paced arena combat with strategic teleportation, often compared to a mix of Halo and Portal.
The sequel introduces a faction system with three distinct classes—Aeros, Meridian, and Sabrask—each offering unique abilities and playstyles, adding depth to the 4v4 matches. It also features new objective-based game modes, larger maps, and a massive 8v8v8 Multi-Team Portal Warfare mode, all rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5 for enhanced visuals and performance.
An open alpha is currently running from February 27 to March 2, 2025, showcasing these additions.
