The Wii U Spring update (April 2013) promised better loading times, and it does deliver.

Before the update, it took New Super Mario Bros. U around 28 seconds to load. After the update, that was reduced to around 20 second. 8 seconds faster.

And it's even faster to close the game. Before it took 26 seconds. After the update, it's down to only 8. That's an 18 seconds gain.
