Don't worry, I'm practicing for MediEvil, I just recorded this while I was sick. I don't think I could LP this game, as it requires too much of my focus, and I don't have a lot to say about the game while playing it.

I've owned Space Invaders 99 since it came out, and have always been a fan of it, for the soundtrack, visuals, and game's overall feel. It's not brutally challenging, but it's fun, and nostalgic for me, and makes for a great, competitive coop experience if you have a mate to play it with.

Maniacal mode is also the hardest the game gets, and is unlocked after finishing Expert mode. If you want to make the game arbitrarily harder, bump up the game's overclocking in an emulator for these fun, fun, fun situations:

Pluto boss can double-hit randomly on certain frames; Neptune boss gets unavoidable smash phase; Blocker splits become faster than anything in the game; Uranus boss' energy ball attack becomes homing; Angler shots become even MORE random and fast; Freezers can skip their cool-down frames and kill you randomly when they're on the floor; Kamikaze aliens are so fast, they become impossible to 2-shot; Venus boss can track you and kill you instantly; Earth boss' lasers become auto-tracking, and his projectiles become impossible to dodge; Asteroid boss becomes so fast, it auto-tracks and kills the player if a single asteroid is missed in sequence, and stays at max speed after you spawn...

If you DO bump the overclock, note that the tank actually becomes "sticky", and gets locked to certain angles, resulting in easily getting killed, and making some shots impossible. Also, the game speed being so fast makes the aliens move faster than you can shoot, and they'll hit the bottom of the screen in a matter of seconds - it's not reasonable or fun to try this, but, you can if you want to - the farthest I got doing this method was Mercury, before I completely snapped at the auto-asteroids.
