UN Squadron is a game shoot 'em up (shmup), released for the Super Nintendo in 1991 (USA and Japan) and 1992 (Europe). In Japan this game is called Area 88 and is based on the manga of the same title. It was one of the first games of the SNES, so the graphics are simple.

The story puts us in command of 3 pilots of the UN Squadron, a battle squadron composed of quite skilled mercenaries, trying to defend their country, the kingdom of Aslan, which was taken over by a large group of mercenaries and smugglers weapons, Project4. Members of the U.N Squadron then are the last hope of restoring freedom to his people, and the rest is not hard to imagine. We can initially choose to play with a 3 pilots available: Shin Kazama, Mickey Scymon and Greg Gates, each with their own abilities. Shin is the pilot who soon evolves the main weapon, Mickey which can carry more special weapons and Greg which recovers more quickly from damage suffered.

In order to get new planes and weapons we gathered money we got in the main and secondary missions. I tried to get the money together to buy the best aircraft and to use all weapons. Video recorded in Gamer mode with Mickey Scymon.
